Why Stripe
Card payments and marketplace payouts are regulated. Sparetoolz uses Stripe Connect Express so owners can get paid through Stripe’s flow—not cash in a shoebox.
What owners do
- List tools
- Complete payout onboarding (identity + bank via Stripe’s hosted screens)
- Accept rental requests
- Get paid for rentals that complete payment, subject to Stripe and platform rules
Exact payout timing depends on Stripe, your bank, and account status—not a fixed promise from this article.
What renters do
Pay in-app with Stripe after you accept. They see a normal card checkout—not a wire to a stranger.
What Sparetoolz does
Platform fees (when applicable) show in the rental quote. Owner share is handled via Stripe Connect destination charges.
